Lot 583 Marc Chagall

Russian-born painter (1887–1985) whose colorful, fanciful depictions of peasant life, Judaica, and other subjects earned him a place among the most popular visual artists of the twentieth century. Matte-finish 8.25 x 8.5 photo of Chagall working on his 1930s painting entitled ‘The Bridal Couple,’ with a female model posing next to the painting, signed in blue artist’s pencil. In very good condition, with lightly trimmed edges, a diagonal crease to lower right corner, small touched-up area to background, and a few small areas of light discoloration.
